What I do, and do not like about fall.
I love blood, gore, vampires and witches as much as the next bitch. Dark visuals are prominent in our photography; however scary/stalker/haunted movies were never my thing. Alfred Hitchcock said, “There is no terror in the bang, only in the anticipation of it.” And I was terrified of it; watching Candyman as a tot started that. I was actually quite the pussy until I (recently) decided scary movies are just scary movies and that I can handle it. Turns out, I can. And I even enjoy most of them! Life lesson: power of the mind.
No mind control needed – I legit love fall. So many things about fall makes me feel alive and happy: sweaters and boots everyday; the natural lighting; fresh, crisp air; vibrant trees and the smell of dying leaves; dark stormy days; Rat Pack on repeat; liquor 43 with milk in the evenings; creamy soups and turkey dinner (always eat seconds)!
While you eat your leftover Halloween candy/smoke a joint/drink some wine, please enjoy a few of my favorite fall things:
⋅ Voluspa Branche Vermeil candle | so woodsy and comfy, smells like a cold day in the forest at Indigo
⋅ Pumpkins in all the random heirloom colors (and shapes) from your local market #diy
⋅ DW Home Warm Tobacco Pipe candle | best black container/wax/scent combo I’ve come across by DW Home
⋅ Skulls | I like skulls out year round, but now is a good time to pile them on at HomeSense
⋅Dark themed art | SUGAR photograph by Kris Por Studio
⋅Raw wood furniture | we’re making these; will be available soon!
⋅Dark themed art | MUNCHIES photograph by Kris Por Studio
⋅Plaid anything, faux fur throws/pillows, and big ass socks (add coffee & kitty) at Indigo
⋅Crows (in real life, scare the shit outta me since watching Hitchcock’s Birds,) and anything with witches, the devil, or underworld (Kate Beckinsale is so hot in the Underworld movies) at HomeSense
⋅Fallen nuts and leaves with candles in big glass bowls #diy
In a nutshell, everything about fall is awesome. Except for spiders, spiders can go to hell.
